Here’s a great technique to add to your weaving toolbox. I developed catenpile weaving out of a desire to bring my different loves of weaving, knitting and crochet together in one technique. Quickly I realized that I had found something that had a lot of potential. With much experimentation I have developed the technique until finally it is ready to share with the world. This technique can be used on all kinds of weaving projects and can be done with just about any loom though rigid heddle looms are my loom of choice for this technique. I recommend downloading the free pattern and following along with the tutorial before experimenting with the technique on your own, so that you can get a feel for how it works without having to figure out how to make your sett, ppi, and the gauge of your catenpile loops work together to create a consistent fabric.
