The Divine Accolade - The Divine Accolade (full ep, 2023)

This majestic EP from German chainmail armorer and dungeoness The Divine Accolade has taken me too long to post, but I have had it on regular play for the last few months without its magic dimming and somehow there are still some tapes available – so I am finally giving this a hearty bump so that you do not miss out on one of the last copies. Self-described as ‘Romantic Medieval Black Metal’ that is a perfectly apt description to convey the charm and rage of lives long passed in these five vignettes of halcyon quest. A brittle harpsichord introduces the scene, with a second track twirls us towards a softer embrace, towards a shimmering third act opens into the coruscating crescendo of the fourth chapter, and climax of Lancelot’s Vow. A full, cinematic epic of a tale, told through fifteen inspired minutes and five detailed movements of black metal, dungeon synth and vibrational ambience. A small number of copies of the cassette remain available from Fiadh Productions (US) and Vita Detestabilis (EU). Tapes printed silver glitter-shell cassette with full-color J-card in clear Norelco cases, and come with “The Art of Chivalry“ ‘zine and pin.
