The son of champion dancers Corky and Shirley Ballas, he traveled the world with his parents at a young age attending various professional dance competitions. As a child Mark moved to London where he attended the prestigious Italia Conti Performing Arts School, where he met his good friend and fellow pro dancer Derek Hough. Mark graduated with honors and a pure love of the arts.
