Soaked in wax and painted with wood paint. I have sanded and polished the blade itself. But I did not make new bevels or sharpen them, because I do not know what the parameters of his knife should be. I cleaned the brass part of the knife with sandpaper, I soldered the broken parts with tin-lead solder and applied a blackening agent to hide traces of deep rust and give an older look.
