Eyewitness to History: Holocaust Survivor Esther Starobin

The Eyewitness to History video library was created to enable audiences everywhere to hear firsthand testimony from Holocaust survivors. This video was created from a live digital program, First Person: Conversations with Holocaust Survivors, recorded on October 6, 2021. It featured Esther Starobin, who was two years old when her parents sent her out of their German hometown to an uncertain life in England. She was rescued as part of the Kindertransport, an organized effort on behalf of Jewish children that took place between 1938 and 1940. Esther spent the next eight years with a foster family, largely unaware what was happening to her parents and brother who had remained in Germany.
