A short film showing the final minutes of the AEG Telefunken medium-wave transmitter at Orfordness, Suffolk, transmitting BBC World Service on 648KHz to Western Europe 24 hours a day. The transmitter started in service in September 1982, until Saturday night 26th March 2011 when it was switched off as part of the savings the BBC have to make.
