Luckily it can be sanded easily as it is made of solid walnut wood We used: An orbital sander with the sandpaper grit 60, 120 and to finish 180 A Multifunction tool with a triangle sanding plate, sandpaper grit 60, 120, 180 The chair was sanded 3 times. After using the 180 grit and 120 grit the chair is wiped over with water to see whether there are any varnish rests or uneven areas on the surface. Each time we waited until the chair was dry before we continued sanding.
