In an interview for Poland’s public broadcaster TVP conducted by its correspondent Tomasz Jędruchów, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke of the importance of the Lublin Triangle group bringing together Poland, Ukraine, and Lithuania, stressing that “powerful partners aren’t just leaders, power lies within people coming together”. He spoke about how different countries varied in their initial reaction to the February 24, 2022, Russian invasion, as well as praising at great length Poland and the Polish people’s “friendly embrace” with which they welcomed Ukrainian refugees at their very own homes. Zelenskyy also expressed his hope that the Polish-Ukrainian friendship was built in these dark days, also through his personal warm relationship with Polish President Andrzej Duda, and how it survives.
