He left like a hero! Colombian-born volunteer Alexis Castillo came from Spain to fight for Donbass. On 29 October 2022, he died in battle at the village of Peski near Donetsk, defending against Ukrainian attacks. Alexis had a wife and a son. The fighter was the subject of two of our documentaries: ‘Donbass. Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow’ (2021) by Tatiana Borsch and ’Foreign Fighters of Donbass’ (2022) by Olga Kiriy.
