Building the Most Versatile DIY Distortion Pedal. (EQ Distortion Stack.)

In this video I mod a cheap old Arion EQ pedal by adding a simple distortion stage. I used a TL071 op amp and germanium diodes and created a small stripboard layout. It is a basic hard clipping circuit, similar to DOD 250, MXR Distortion , Pro Co Rat, etc, etc. The MEQ-1 is very similar to, but not a clone of, the Boss GE-7. It turned out to be a very versatile drive pedal.
