River Police (1950-1955)

RIVER POLICE London, The river Thames. Two teenage couples in small motorboats driving dangerously. One of the boats swerves to miss a larger passenger boat and the couple fall in the water. A boy on the dockside sees the danger and rushes to call the River Police. WS the Police control room. CU Policemen inside the riverboat. MS the couple struggling in the water holding onto a life ring. Several shots as the police boat pulls along side of the couple and drags them out of the water. CU the boat captain. CU the girl breathing from an air mask. CU the lad as a towel is thrown at him. WS Tower bridge, The River Police boat draws alongside a barge. An officer questions the old man in charge. MS The dome of St Paul’s Cathedral. Pan down to the street and a black truck towing a small boat. The same boat being rowed on the river by two policeman. CU a diver on the dockside being helped into the water. MS the diving team making notes. The river water bubbles and the diver emerges holding an ob
