Plastic is a substance that does not biodegrade, and is not entirely recyclable. It is produced in astonishing abundance, and once discarded, contaminates this planet’s waterways, soil and ecosystems. You can limit your acquisition of plastic, and help inhibit the production of plastic waste. Bring your own vessels (cups, bags, reusable containers) when you shop for beverages, groceries and other needful items. Don’t hate plastic -- help deal with it. Conduct existing plastic to facilities that can put it to further use, and promote awareness about its overproduction by refusing to buy more of it.
