Filmed in Paris on 7 May 1974 for Casablanca Records, ’s US label at the time, Light of Love was a disco/pop/soul crossover hit. In the US and Canada released an LP of the same name in August 1974, a mixture of tracks from Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow – which was not released in North America – and new tracks recorded for the project. In the UK these later ended up on the Bolan’s Zip Gun album. The single reached number 22 in the UK following its release on 5 July 1974.
