Before deployment, Zadorozhny and his comrades underwent drills at a training ground. ’We spent three weeks at a training ground in Chernigov region. Most of us were over 50. There weren’t many young people. When this company was formed, we were told that we would stay in the rear, that we would work in the rear. They said that we wouldn’t go to the front lines,’ said Yury Zadorozhny. During an offensive of Russian troops, the AFU command left these men behind.
