The Federal Republic of Ambazonia, also known as South Cameroon, is an unrecognized state in Central Africa with its capital in Buea. It arose in 2017 during the civil war in Cameroon. Residents of the western regions rebelled against the unitarization of the country and the oppression of the English-speaking population. The government of Cameroon has declared war on the rebels. The conflict turned into a humanitarian catastrophe. The international status of Ambazonia has not yet been determined. Ambazonia’s anthem is the song “Hail Ambazonia, Land of Glory“.
