(also known as Thundercloud Acropolis) S-Rank Time: 5 minutes 40 seconds This stage is Ruins with a vengeance. Except that since this is in Sky Road, it also has to be up in the air. (Well, most of this game is up in the air anyway, so it all works out.) Set in a cumulonimbus cloud, Sky Road Zome 4 has Sonic making his way up and down some ruins made of sandstone bricks and sand. It alternates between 2-D climbs and falls and 3-D slides of sand. Both are pretty tricky, this stage being the last normal stage in the game before the final boss. (Lava Mountain Zone 3 has some normal platforming too, but it is essentially a boss rush.) It also has techno samba playing.
