UK students fail to emulate US pro-Palestinian protests

Pro-Palestine students in the UK looking to emulate US counterparts have so far failed to reach the same levels of enthusiasm. A few tents have appeared on the University College London campus in central London but the efforts of campaigners here have been hampered by low numbers - and poor weather. Protesters in Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds have also set up tents outside university buildings. Students at Goldsmiths in London forced their way into the library where they barricaded themselves in. Rishi Sunak is to summon university leaders to Downing Street to discuss the safety of Jewish students amid warnings that pro-Palestinian peers “replicate scenes of hatred from US campuses”.
