GARY BROOKER: HOMELOVIN’ , (FEAT. & ORCHESTRA), MUNICH, GERMANY, 1980

In grateful memory to Gary Brooker (1945 - 2022) Gary Brooker and the Munich Chamber Opera Orchestra conducted by Eberhard Schoener at the Circus Krone building in Munich. Recorded from a six hours live transmission on German TV on 12 Nov. 1980 Line up: Gary Brooker - voc, piano Paul Vincent - guitar John Gibblin - bass Hermann Weindorf - organ B.J. Wilson - drums Morris Pert - perc Mel Collins - sax Originally released on Gary’s second album “LEAD ME TO THE WATER“ (1982). This performance more than one year before the official release. Eberhard Schoener (who had toured with Procol Harum, his Munich Chamber Opera Orchestra and the Toelzer Boys Choir in Germany, Austria and Switzerland 1972) invited Gary for his first CLASSICAL ROCK NIGHT in Munich. The mammooth concert was transmitted on TV in 16 countries, full length, six hours. Other guests were Mike Batt, Esther Ofarim, Andy Mackay, Mel Collins, Jon Anderson, Darryl Way. There has never been a retransmission of this event and private VHS recorders at that time were rare! So this may be the only surviving tape of that very night !!
