Trellis Stitch - Elizabethan Embroidery - Part III
This video shows how to produce both the FRONT (brick-like vertical pattern) and the REVERSE (zig-zag trellis pattern) sides of the stitch, using exactly the same stitch formation for each, working from a central horizontal foundation row of reversed chain stitch. The reverse zig-zag side is demonstrated first. The thread I’m using is ’S’ twist, Coats, ’Eldorado’. The stitch looks best of all worked in ’S’ twist silk. Happy stitching!
