My open source rotary cell phone went viral (surprisingly, to me and my husband), and people seem to be interested in it. The original description with links to notes and design files is here: and a starter kit is now available here:
-The answer to the question “why?“ goes from the beginning to 6:12.
-The description of how to use the phone goes from 6:13 to 14:45.
-The “build“ portion of the video goes from 14:45 to the end and highlights all the tricky procedures for a scratch build. I would consider it a supplement or (maybe) an alternative to the written build instructions.
