Conversation with Michel Ocelot and Isao Takahata | Locarno Film Festival
Two masters of animation cinema, Isao Takahata and Michel Ocelot, met in Locarno in 2009 on the occasion of the Manga Impact retrospective, to discuss the mutual influences between Eastern and Western traditions of an art capable of bringing together audiences of distant cultures and generations. It was an enthralling conversation that tackled subjects like cultural differences, the relationship with younger audiences and technical limitations as creative stimuli.
