Protecting Critical Habitat for Marine Life: Olga Filatova Named 2015 Pew Marine Fellow

It’s a mystery: Little is known about the habits and habitats of at-risk whales, dolphins, and porpoises in the Russian Pacific. That’s why our 2015 Pew marine fellow Olga Filatova, a research fellow at Moscow State University, is exploring the region—to find and protect the areas these animals need most to survive. She’s one of five distinguished scientists and conservationists from Canada, Australia, Russia, and the United Kingdom to be named a 2015 recipient of the Pew fellowship in marine conservation.
