Sam Kininger - Soulive - live - alto sax - funk - “Right On“

Soulive - live - Feb. 4, 2002. After playing two warm-up tunes (“Steppin’“ and “Azucar“) as a trio, Soulive brings Sam Kininger on stage to get down and funky. Alas, the sound mix lacks the bass register of the keyboards. (What a pity, b/c Neal Evans has a mind-boggling left hand.) I hope that the clip is nonetheless interesting and enjoyable as an imperfect document of vintage Soulive with Sam Kininger in the line-up.
