Futurology

In this episode, we will see an early family photograph from 1850s brought to life using AI. The group portrait is of an unidentified American family of four from 1851 and it was taken by Jeremiah Gurney, an American photographer who operated in New York. This type of photography is known as Daguerreotype, which was widely used during the 1840s and 1850s. It was the first publicly available photographic process, and it was introduced worldwide, in 1839 by Louis Daguerre. We have colorized this portrait and also the faces are animated to add a bit of realism. Both colorization and animation are done using Artificial Intelligence.
