This is a live performance by the Yuval Ron Ensemble at McCain Auditorium at Kansas State University in April 2012. Vartani mor vort is a lament from the late 5th century dedicated to the Armenian hero Vartan. The chant immortalized the moments following Vartans’ death when the entire Armenian nation joined Vartan’s mother in a deep sorrowful sob.
