Rod Stewart - Amazing Grace [HD]

Rod Stewart sings ’Amazing Grace’ from his 1971 Mercury album ’Every Picture Tells a Story’. This Christian hymn was written in 1772 by the Englishman John Newton who was involved in the slave trade but after a spiritual conversion became an Anglican clergyman. This is the most popular of such hymns, has become an emblematic black spiritual, and was newly popular in the 1960s folk revival. The lyrics are below with comments on the song. Note: The album has this song the second in a Side 1 Track 3 medley with the Arthur Crudup song ’That’s All Right’ (famous as Elvis’ first recording). In this video, the final 45 seconds (first song verse) is repeated at the start, followed by an 85 second instrumental piece and then the first verse again. [Vinyl/13-Images/WAV] Amazing Grace (Singer: Rod Stewart) Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That sav’d a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now I’m found, Was blind, but now I see.
