LAPD Foothill Division is investigating a shooting in the area of Carl Place / Lehigh Avenue. This is prelim info: OIS in Foothill Div. We are still in the early stages of this investigation as there are still multiple witnesses to interview, as well as ofcrs involved. Investigators still have body worn video to review as well as any other video/evidence to examine. Around 8:50pm Foothill Gang Enforcement Detail officers were in the process of conducting an enforcement stop on a black BMW sedan for a traffic violation near Carl St. & Carl Pl. The front passenger, a 20 yr old male, exited with a gun and ran from ofcrs. The suspect led ofcrs on a foot chase. Some time during that chase, an officer involved shooting occurred. Susp was struck by gunfire and taken into custody. Officers attempted life saving measures prior to the arrival of Paramedics.
