This is primarily the best of 1974, so a song wouldn’t be in just because it’s popular. Most songs were put in due to the quality of the album it came from. 1974 has a sort of stigma for being a bad year for music due to the pop charts at the time, but despite that 2974 was a great year for deep cuts and general uniqueness in music.
