KINEMATICS | Serial robot vs. Parallel robot (This is not CGI)
Six degrees of freedom (6DOF) achieved in two completely different ways. The serial architecture of the world’s smallest industrial robot from Mecademic () has a large workspace and compact design while the parallel architecture of the Hexapod (also known as a Gough-Stewart platform) can reach extremely high speed and acceleration since all the heavy parts (motors, guides, gearboxes) can be mounted on the fixed base.
