Battleship USS Nevada after two nuclear weapons test

This footage shows the battleship USS Nevada after two nuclear tests in 1946 at Bikini Atoll. USS Nevada (BB-36) served in World War I. and in the Pacific Theater of World War II where she earned 7 battles stars. In mid-1946, USS Nevada (BB-36) was a target for nuclear weapon tests during Operation Crossroads. She survived both tests with heavy damage and radioactivity. After two years of inactivity, USS Nevada was towed to sea off the Hawaiian islands and sunk by gunfire and torpedos.
