My good friend, Uncle Rob, sent me this kit last year. I am finally getting around to building it. It’s a neat idea. A fake candle that you light with a real flame, and extinguish with your breath when you are done. The circuit runs off a 4013 flip/flop with two triggers. Trigger 1 is an infrared receiver, trigger 2 is a microphone. When a flame is brought near trigger 1, it sets the flip/flop. When you blow into the microphone it resets the flip/flip. The candle is represented by an integral RGB LED.
