BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB - SPREAD YOUR LOVE - LIVE AT LEVITATION

The Reverberation Appreciation Society are proud to welcome Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with the Seventh vinyl release in the Live at LEVITATION series. The release showcases the band’s appearance at the festival with their 2013 performance, mixed by BRMC’s own Peter Hayes. These recordings are immortalized on beautiful Splatter vinyl 12“ RSD exclusive bonus track Flexi 7“. This RSD exclusive version is out in stores on Sat, April 22, 2023. This 7th release follows Live at Levitation releases from Kikagaku Moyo, The Black Angels, Primal Scream, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Moon Duo and Psychic Ills. In the early 2000s, San Francisco’s Black Rebel Motorcycle Club were part of a vanguard of acts spearheading a garage rock revival - each a beacon of the staying power of gritty guitar music: The White Stripes and Dirtbombs in Detroit, The Kills in London, The Strokes and Interpol in New York, The Raveonettes in Copenhagen - the list goes on. Each made their mark, and BRMC’s take on rock and roll in the 20th century was particularly alluring - dark and atmospheric, their debut LP took them immediately out of the underground and onto stages worldwide, bringing their rock and roll manifesto to a new generation of music fans and artists: I fell in love with the sweet sensation I gave my heart to a simple chord I gave my soul to a new religion Whatever happened to you? Whatever happened to our rock ’n’ roll? BRMC’s answer to that question was loud and clear: rock ‘n’ roll is here to stay. For up and coming bands like Austin’s The Black Angels, BRMC’s approach to music rang true: music was a religion, a way of life: “After seeing BRMC 20 years ago at Emo’s, with The Warlocks, we knew rock and roll was still alive and well. The band’s sound was so tough, they were undeniable, pure energy. That show set us on this path and we never really looked back.” - Alex Maas, The Black Angels Fast forward to 2013 and BRMC were headlining the Friday night of The Black Angel’s Austin Psych Fest, bringing it all full circle. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Live at Levitation chronicles that moment in time, and the band’s no holds barred performance that night. On April 29, 2023, nearly 10 years to the day, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will return to Austin Psych Fest bringing their bruised and battered guitar gospel to the main stage once again, alongside friends The Black Angels, The Raveonettes, Night Beats and many more.
