Home Defense: Double Barrel Shotgun vs AR15

The suggestion to just get a double barrel shotgun for home defense deserves some discussion and demonstration, I believe, particularly since it’s promoted in the context of being so much better than an AR 15. Let just take a look at how they might stack up. The double barrel shotgun is a Stoeger 12 gauge Coach Gun, one I’ve used extensively in cowboy matches. The AR15 is my Colt M4 Carbine (6920).
