Jerry The Troublesome Tyke - The Joy Provider (1925)

Animation featuring Jerry the Troublesome Tyke - a cartoon dog. A . production. Note: it seems that shots in this animation are out of order. Should be in the order indicated by bold numbers in brackets. i) Exterior of a house covered with snow. Jerry suddenly comes flying through the door and somebody shouts (in a speech bubble) “This is a workhouse, not a dog’s home!“ Jerry shouts back “You can keep your ’Xmas pudding!!“ He walks around the corner to the back of a house and says: “I wonder if they’ll take pity on me here!“ He looks through the window. There is a man sitting by the fire shaking his head. He says: “I’m broke! It looks like a tough ’Xmas for the kid!“ iii) The ghostly figure leads Jerry around a curtain where he finds Father Christmas with a broken leg sitting with his foot on a stool. He beckons to Jerry saying: “I’ve got the gout! What are we going to do about the toys?“ He has an idea (thinking of the poor man he has seen earlier) “I’ll take the toys!“ he yells. v
