Angela Gheorghiu as Magda in La Rondine (1997 recording)

Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu in a role she made her own: Magda in Giacomo Puccini’s three-act opera La Rondine (The Swallow; 1917). She recorded the full role with EMI in 1997. Gheorghiu’s live performance of the role at the MET is available on DVD (2009). Angela last sang the role in July 2013, at the ROH. This video includes the following highlights: 1.
