“Something Missing“ Adding texture and finishing sculpture in clay. Sculpting a head. Demo by Joanna Mozdzen. Few days ago we had Valentines’ Day. Thinking about it gave me idea of my new sculpture called “Something Missing“. I was wondering how lack of love would affect our life. I am thinking about the genuine love and compassion toward another human being. I started by creating bust of a girl but the place where her heart was supposed to be became hallow, empty space, just echo of the real heart. Without that vital part she became like a coldblooded reptile. Her skin is covered with scales. On back of her head she has bumps and depressions. They create the shape of a crooked spine. It is symbolic of her lack of character. She is becoming fragmented and seemingly, useless. Her body is disintegrating, cracking and falling apart. Her slightly open lips want to say something but they are paralyzed by a need to say something negative. So she will say nothin
