Hydrofoilboat homemade

Our first test runs. This is our summer 2012 experiment with home build hydrofoils, using a 5hp outboard shorttail. We made a simple boat from plywood and engineerd the foils (wings) from 3 layers of 18mm plywood. The whole thing with engine weighs about 300 kg and will lift about 100 kg, so a total of 400kg will be lifted out of the water with only 5 hp! At about 10km/h it will start climbing on its foils and will reach a top speed, on foils, of 20 km/h. God created man, man can only engineer and work with the things God has given him. To God be the glory for every succes, even this small one, Enjoy! Henk Antonides.
