TRIGUN MAXIMUM X BLOOD BLOCKADE BATTLEFRONT - STEP UP LOVE [AMV]

i am finally able to upload this to youtube. originally i wasn’t able to due to the rights of the song, but it’s changed ^_^ so here it is. i started animating this in august 2018 and finished it in june of 2020. i uploaded this to twitter on july 1 2020 to celebrate trigun maximum’s anniversary. i used clip studio paint EX to animate and adobe after effects to compose. the length of time it took was mainly due to inexperience and being busy with school. this is directly based off the second ED to kekkai sensen / BBB’s anime. i wanted to make this because 1) these were my two favorite things at the time and 2) they were both made by yasuhiro nightow. my original intent was to try and replicate nightow’s art style, that’s why a lot of things look traced from the original ED. honestly when i was nearing the end of production i gave up on doing that and that’s why there’s a drastic art style change in some spots. i have also had the questions and comments that this is playing off of the fact that kekkai sensen’s first season’s ED was reanimated for several different medias by other people too. i wasn’t intending that when i made this. i just liked the style of animation the ED was in and wanted to do something for trigun. because this also took two years there’s a drastic quality change too. a lot of the older animations have colors i literally just color-picked from the low resolution video i had, which gave some really ugly colors in the end video. i think what i’m most proud of in this video is how i managed to replicate a lot of the effects from the original video from scratch. a lot of people asked me if i just overlayed animations onto the original video, but literally everything is from scratch. i think that becomes obvious when you realize the animations are supposed to be moving at 24fps when i composted it at 30fps, so everything looks too fast and not timed right. this was my first serious animation project, and it gave me a valuable learning experience. i appreciate everyone’s kind words and support for it. part of me wants to tweak and fix some areas, which i will probably do now that i can upload this to youtube. i recommend trigun maximum to those who are interested. i feel that it has the best balance of serious tone and goofiness out of all nightow’s work. if you like kekkai sensen and haven’t read trigun maximum i hope you consider it. thank you. my twitter: my instagram: my carrd:
