M3.4 Flare_ Solar Activity Increased To Moderate Levels - Geomagnetic Storm Watch For Oct. 15-16

nemesis maturity 14 окт. 2024 г. #solarflare #CME #solarstorm Solar activity increased to moderate levels. Region 3848 produced two M-class solar flares today (Oct. 14). The largest event was an M3.4 solar flare (14/00:17 UTC). Associated with this event was a 545 km/s Type II radio sweep. The M3.4 flare was also produced a CME off the NW limb. Analysis and model output of this CME suggests no Earth-directed component. The second M-flare again from region 3848 was an M1.8 14/13:37 UTC. NOAA forecasters waiting fresh data from SOHO coronagraphs to confirm any Earth-directed component with this explosion. Geomagnetic Storm Watch Minor G1-class geomagnetic storms are possible on Oct. 15th and 16th due to a CME now en route to Earth. The CME was launched from sunspot AR3854 on Oct. 11th and is expected to deliver a glancing blow to our planet. High latitude skywatchers should be alert for auroras when it’s dark outside. #solarflare #CME #solarstorm Images credit: nemesis maturity channel, NOAA/SWPC, AIA/SDO, SOHO/LASCO Music credit: YouTube Audio Library Lazy Laura - Quincas Moreira
